Sound of Home is a testimony and a mirror to the changing communities of Ireland and a country that is now an immigration state. The work was composed during several workshops in which we exchanged our experience and journeys of immigration through stories and music. I am myself an immigrant from Israel, born to a father who immigrated from the United States to Israel and to grandparents who fled to Israel in 1945 after anti-Semitic risings in Tehran.
I’d like to thank Kseniia Rusnak and Halyna Obshta for opening their hearts and sharing their stories and music.
Thanks Monika Sapielak and CFCP for all your support.
Thank you also to the Arts Council for supporting this project.
